Resources for Service Providers

Since 1993, the Hawaii Children’s Trust Fund (HCTF) has provided more than $6.6 million in grants to over 150 Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) prevention agencies/programs statewide.  Through these prevention grants and other public awareness, advocacy, technical assistance, training and community events, addressing risk factors and strengthening all families to prevent child abuse and neglect is the primary purpose of the HCTF.  This includes supporting funding for programs that increase:

  • A parent or caregiver’s ability to create a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment for their children;
  • Programs that increase children’s abilities to form healthy relationships;
  • Training and education for professionals;
  • Research, evaluation, and advocacy related to the prevention of child abuse and neglect;
  • Education to expand the community’s awareness of the needs of families and children and the issues relating to child abuse and neglect;
  • The State’s momentum in supporting the various organizations who work to eradicate child abuse and neglect before it even happens.

As an agency that cares about the children and families of Hawaii, coming together to do more with less becomes even more important today as resources continue to dwindle.  The HCTF’s Coalition is statewide and exemplifies a single voice of dedicated professionals and individuals who focus on preventing child abuse and neglect while promoting safe, healthy, and thriving children and families.
